The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a professional certification organization that trains, tests and certifies automotive repair and service industry techs in the US and Canada.
To become ASE Certified a mechanic must already have at least two years of technical and practical automotive experience. Certification requires diligent study and hands-on knowledge to pass tests on a number of different automotive repair subjects including:
